InfinityEd is based in Wilbraham, MA on Nipmuc, Pocumtuc, and Agawam land territories —

We provide in-center, at-home, and online personalizing tutoring sessions, educational programs, and academic mentorship to elementary, middle school, high school, and college-level students based on their area of need or interest.

Our Director, Varna Naik, is a sole proprietor and independent business owner/operator. InfinityEd is a Women and Minority Owned Business (WMOB - certified by the SDO). We are looking for someone who loves teaching and is exceptional at teaching their subject matter. This person needs to be a go-getter, someone with an entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to learn and adapt.

InfinityEd is hiring a Licensed AP/IB CHEMISTRY and BIOLOGY Teacher/Tutor. This position holds massive potential for growth, InfinityEd plans on growing into an accredited program and will need someone who has intentionality with course, program, and department development. With these long-term goals in mind, our candidate is someone who has plans to settle into this role and work with us as we grow.

*Introductory period starts slow, with the transition of a few starting students to building a reliable clientele. We aim to organically expand our business through direct referrals. Our candidates will be prepared and confident with their engagement/outreach and throughout instructor processes (including trial/consultations, mock tests, diagnostic tests, student sessions, parent/guardian meetings, post-program reflection, and network upkeep.

InfinityEd seeks to expand our instructional team with 1-2 positions available to match our clientele in search of a Licensed AP/IB CHEMISTRY and BIOLOGY Teacher/Tutor with experience teaching, facilitating, and engaging in educational spaces such as classrooms, workshops, project-based learning, and individual online and in-center tutoring focused towards Chemistry and Biology and the sciences.

This work covers tutoring and instruction with students seeking assistance in; general education subjects (Middle School, H.S. Chemistry and BIOLOGY (honors), IB, AP), and standardized test preparation.

*It is required to have experience in all areas listed.

Homeschooling Program is an accessible way for students to engage in any program or academic assistance with Educators accommodating in-house sessions.

In-center Sessions provide a space outside of the home and classroom for students to work one-on-one with their educators or in a group setting relating to their area of academic need or program interest. Our center also hosts recurring community events that sometimes fall into evening or weekend hours for instructor facilitation.

Remote Sessions aims to accommodate students working outside of our center location (differing states, internationally, etc.) Remote sessions provide the same opportunity for students working in-center or through our homeschooling programs. Experience with remote learning is preferred. Google Suite. workplace, Figma.

Tutors Duties and Responsibilities

Academic Tutoring

• Prepare lessons based on sourced material from IB/AP content as well as specific student materials depending on area of need/specialization

• Scheduling students based on their and your availability.

• Assisting students with weekly assignments, homework, projects, research, and other academic tasks revolving around their Chemistry and Biology  and/or Science goals.

• Providing students with positive and constructive feedback, including each session into tracking documents for note-taking on what was completed during sessions and can be referenced back to.

• Compassion and empathy are at the forefront for our student's best interests in terms of emotional and physical capability, program/session pacing, and availability.

IB/AP Chemistry and Biology Programming and Development

InfinityEd is hiring a Licensed AP/IB CHEMISTRY and BIOLOGY Teacher/Tutor. This position holds massive potential for growth, InfinityEd plans on growing into an accredited program and will need someone who has intentionality with program and department development. With these long-term goals in mind, our candidate is someone who has plans to settle into this role and work with us as we grow. Candidates will have an interest in program/departmental development as companies' demand broadens.

Our candidates will be prepared and confident with their engagement/outreach and throughout instructor processes (including trial/consultations, mock tests, diagnostic tests, student sessions, parent/guardian meetings, post-program reflection, and network upkeep.

Administrative Work

• Independent workers are able to schedule, manage, and balance their working hours, preparation hours, client/guardian engagement meetings, and development meetings with Senior staff.

• Manage student folders within Google Workplace, Figma, etc for Director/student/guardian reference.

• Basic upkeep of in-center workspace (in-center). Providing inventory needs to the Director as needed.

  
  

Skills and qualifications

Thorough knowledge of general academia, IB/AP Chemistry (Honors), IB/AP Biology (Honors) standardized and classroom test preparation, and expertise in facilitation/instruction of said specific subject areas.

Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly explain challenging concepts; provide instructions and deliver feedback and notes regarding methods/processing of subject areas

Ability to motivate and encourage students to improve their academic performance using effective goal-setting strategies

Creativity and flexibility in order to personalize their learning approach for individual students

Patience and compassion for students as they develop skills and improve their performance

We require a minimum of two with a preference for three years of experience within the field. Background checks will be conducted as required.

Experience working with secondary (middle and high school) and College level students.

Ability to work on-site in our teaching center at InfinityEd’s office in Wilbraham, MA. (Preferred)

Ability to engage in remote sessions from a reliable home computer. (Required)

Interest in program/department development and revision of existing programs (Preferred)

Pay/Job Type:

Independent Contractor

Starting at $16.25/hr (Admin/Session Preparation/Planning)

Once you reach $30/hr (for Instruction) the above rate will no longer be offered

$25/hr Starting (for Instruction; with potential for full-time positions), growth up to $40/hr.

Ability to make up to $60/hr (with growth in clientele and programming)

Schedule:

Hourly based on student/client caseload and their scheduling. Student/client schedules can look like daily, weekly, or bi-weekly sessions that range from 1-2 hours.

Education:

Bachelor's (Required)

Masters (Preferred)

Experience/License/Certification:

IB/AP license (Preferred)

Teaching license (Required)

2 years of experience within the field (Required)

3 years experience teaching, tutoring, and facilitating in learning spaces (Preferred)

Familiarity with Remote sessions, events, and hostings with software like Google Workplace, Google Suite, Zoom, and Figma (Preferred)
